Excerpt from Crops and Markets, Vol. 1: December, 1924; Supplement No. 12 The department, on the basis of facts available as of the date of December 1, estimates that the total production of cotton in the United States for the season 1924 - 1925 will amount to 000 pounds (not including linters), equivalent 'to bales 'of 500 pounds gross weight pounds of lint and'21.8 pounds of bagging and ties estimated per 500-pound gross weight bale). Last year the production was bales, two years ago bales, three years ago bales, and four; years ago bales. The average produc tion for the five years 1910 to 1914 was bales, and for 1915 to 1919 the average was bales.
