In 2020, the Mississippi Optometric Association celebrated the one-hundred-year anniversary of optometry as a legislated profession in Mississippi. While in Mississippi optometry began as a profession in the early 1900's, laws regulating the profession did not exist until 1920. This publication is a reflection of the history that has shaped optometry over the past 100 years.
