This volume serves as a comprehensive reference guide designed to catalog and categorize postage stamps issued within the Australasian region. It provides collectors and historians with a systematic framework for identifying specific stamp issues, variations, and historical production data. By organizing these artifacts chronologically and by issuing authority, the text functions as a primary resource for the verification and valuation of philatelic materials.

The subject matter points to a highly specialized, technical reference text intended for serious philatelists and archival researchers. Its utility is defined by the precision of its data and the consistency of its organizational structure for identifying regional postal history.
