This monograph studies the events at the Russian-German front of WWI in October 1914 which are a little unknown. The author focuses his attention at the battle of the Galician group of the Russian army led by A.A. Brusilov. The book describes the course of the battle on both sides, the commander list, losses and results. The book is based on German, Russian, Austrian, Polish and Hungarian archival sources. Illustrated.
