Philanderer Ken Crossland goes missing and his abandoned car is found on DCI Alec Stainton's turf. A serial killer known as the Carver is terrorizing women across the country. As the hunt for Crossland intensifies, so the suspicion grows that he and the Carver are one and the same person.
