This text serves as a liturgical guide and devotional companion for the Holy Communion service as outlined in the Alternative Service Book 1980, Rite A. The author provides a structured framework to assist clergy and laypeople in navigating the specific theological and rubrical requirements of this Anglican service. By contextualizing the prayers and responses, the work aims to deepen the participant's understanding of the sacramental act within the 1980 liturgical revision.

The subject matter points to a specialized resource intended for those actively engaged in Anglican liturgical practice during the post-1980 period. The framing suggests a practical, instructional approach designed to facilitate a more informed and reverent participation in the communion service.
