This collection provides a practical resource for S.A.B. choirs seeking to perform a diverse range of gospel standards. The author, Mosie Lister, leverages his extensive background in gospel composition and arrangement to curate a selection of songs suitable for three-part mixed voices. The book functions as a functional tool for church music directors and choral ensembles, offering accessible arrangements that maintain the traditional spirit of the included gospel favorites.

The collection is regarded as a standard utility for choral directors focused on traditional gospel repertoire. Its utility stems from the specific S.A.B. voicing, which addresses a common need for ensembles with limited male vocal support.
