An introductory guide to the wildlife of Britain, Wild Guide - British Wildlife is packed full of photographs, maps and illustrations. The text covers 500 species of bird, flower, tree, wild animals, insect, butterfly and moth, and reptile and amphibian. Each page is devoted to a different species, containing a detailed species description and a full-colour photograph, an identification fact file for easy, at-a-glance reference, and a calendar bar showing when during the year you can expect to see that particular plant or animal. For birds and flowers a distribution map shows where in the country the species can be found, and for birds, trees, and butterflies additional artwork highlights important identification features. At the corner of each page a symbol shows which section of the book you have turned to, and the symbol also provides a quick visual clue to the species featured on the page, providing another aid to fast and accurate identification.
