The Times Jumbo Cryptic Crossword Book 6 ensures that all jumbo crosswords published in The Times since the crossword's inception in 1970 are now available in book form. The Times Jumbo crossword was devised in 1970 by Edmund Akenhead, then Crossword Editor of The Times. The large grid (27 x 27 squares) creates great challenges for long words and phrases adding an additional level of diffficulty to completing the crosswords -- the normal Times crossword has a 15 x 15 square grid.
