A former marine must protect a DC staffer from an assassin, only to find himself falling for her. Tasked with protecting Anne Bellamy due to a threat against the US President, ex-marine Jack Snow goes undercover into Washington's high-stakes political circles. He must navigate the treacherous world of power brokers and hidden agendas while keeping Anne safe from a deadly assassin. As their professional relationship deepens, Jack finds himself battling his growing feelings for Anne, which could compromise his mission and their lives.

The premise sets up a high-stakes thriller with romantic undertones, typical of the Mills & Boon Heroes line. The narrative likely focuses on the tension between the protagonist's professional duty and his developing personal connection with Anne Bellamy. Readers can expect a blend of suspenseful action sequences and the unfolding of a romantic relationship within a politically charged setting. The plot is expected to culminate in a resolution that addresses both the external threat and the internal romantic conflict.
