Quaderns—the journal of the Architects' Association of Catalonia—has been, throughout the last decades, a reference in the field of architectural publications [2005 Jean Tschumi Prize for Architecture Criticism of the International Union of Architects (UIA)]. Since this Spring 2018, the magazine we’ll open a new stage in its career with a new direction, new format and new design led by Bendita Gloria, a multi-awarded design studio from Barcelona. In this new period, the intersections and affinities with other disciplines—art, dance, food or urban anthropology—will be explored in order to gain a more profound understanding of the practice and theory of architecture and rearticulate its disciplinary limits. Published twice a year—in separate editions of both english and catalan languages—, each Quaderns will provide a rigorous investigation of a specific theme, and insisting on the discussion of the historical and theoretical aspects of contemporary issues.
