REHMAT, in the quiet universe of a mother’s womb, is the first shelter a human ever knows. It is protection without condition, warmth without asking, nourishment without judgment. There, REHMAT isn’t an action. It is an atmosphere. A constant, wordless promise: “You are safe here.” Like a gentle hush over the chaos of the world, REHMAT is that instinctive, sacred care that wraps a child long before the child even understands the meaning of danger or love. In Islamic thought, the Prophet Muhammad is often described as a rahmah, a mercy sent to all creation “Rahmatan-lil-‘ālamīn.”
