The last centuries of the Second Temple Period were marked by many social and religious conflicts. When this period ended, we are witness to a mew Jewish culture, that of Hazal ("the Sages"). This study deals with basic issues relating to the development of the early halakhah (Jewish religious law) in the transformation from the Bible to halakhah.
