Excerpt from Report of the Citizens' Water Investigation Committee of the City of Sacramento Mr. Stephen Uren declined to serve and Mr. Thomas Scott was appointed in his stead. On July 26, 1899, Mr. R. I. Bentley tendered his resignation be cause of his inability to give the time necessary to properly investigate matters before the committee, and Mr. A. Meister was appointed by the Mayor to fill the vacancy. On September 20, 1899, Mr. F. B. Adams tendered his resignation as a member of the committee, and on October 4th Mr. W. J.
