The Alabama Great Southern Railroad traverses the entire State of Alabama from the northeast to the southwest corner, and follows the centre of the great mineral belt of Alabama for its entire length. This mineral belt is about fifty miles Wide, and extends from the northeast corne1 of the State toward the southwest, for about two hundred miles. It is within this great belt that all the coal, iron and rock mines, furnaces and manufactories of all kinds are located, and where the future wealth and natural increase in the value of real estate will be found.
