Marshal Luke Travis is still in firm control of Abilene, though trouble is always on the verge of breaking out. This time trouble comes in on the railways. A train steaming westbound on the tracks of Kansas Pacific is derailed by a sudden explosion. A group of outlaws, led by notorious bandit Jake Walsh, storm the express car, but the expected strong box is not on board. After a gunfight which leaves many dead, the gang flees. Back in Abilene, a special westbound express train pulls in. On board is Maxwell Stockbridge, president and chief stockholder of the Kansas Pacific Railroad. With him are his three children, including the beautiful Dorothea. While Stockbridge is delayed in town, Walsh strikes again, kidnapping Stockbridge's daughter and hijacking the special train. Marshal Luke Travis and Deputy Cody Fisher must form a posse and chase the outlaws across the West in a desperate attempt to find Stockbridge and return her to Abilene unharmed.
