The hostile reaction of urban populations to the enforced settlement among them of alien refugees and economic migrants from many African countries, Afghanistan and other Asian states, as well as Syria, is unlikely to be mitigated by any action of the remote Brussels Commission or the effete talking-shop of the EU Parliament. Thus it is conceivable that a new and democratically disastrous new politics could emerge across the continent, to which politicians used to talking-down their constituents will have no sufficient response. In this book, db scowles assumes that such a political movement has been successful in successive EU parliamentary elections; and that institutions have dramatically been changed as a result. Having voted to remain in the EU in the 2017 Referendum, the United Kingdom is abolished: subsumed in the north-western maritime province of the reordered EU. A group of students in an undistinguished English university discuss what they can do about this situation, and talk themselves into a highly risky venture.
