When I was preparing for DM entrance, I experienced a dearth of books on the subject of chemotherapy and the books that were available were either not updated or were lacking in depth, that was when I conceived the idea of writing such a book myself. I have written this book purely from the perspective of an oncologist and by relying on the highest quality material, most importantly the Bible of oncology: DeVita, Hellman, and Rosenberg's Cancer Principles & Practice of Oncology 11th edition. The NCCN guidelines, drug monographs and high impact journals were also referenced as and when needed. The result is this book, which will serve the purpose of equipping the exam going (NEET-SS, NEET-PG, medical entrance and board review, along with any other entrance exam where questions about oncology are asked) doctors with the right tool to test and build their knowledge. As the knowledge in the field of oncology is unfolding at an unprecedented scale and new strategies are being devised at a prolific pace, it is not possible to provide all of of the updated information, all at once. I will be updating this book periodically for this purpose. In case of any queries and suggestions regarding this book, kindly send to: bhratri@gmail.com A comprehensive review of oncology can be found in these books: Volume 1: https://www.amazon.in/dp/B08371FV41(general oncology, modalities of cancer treatment, head and neck cancer, lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancers) Volume 2: https://www.amazon.in/dp/B083VXXZY8 (genitourinary cancers, gynecologic oncology, breast cancer, endocrine tumors, sarcomas, skin cancers, neuro-oncology, pediatric oncology, supportive and palliative care) Volume 3: https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0846RY856 (staging) Volume 4: https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0899DTDGQ (hematology, malignant and benign) Dr. Bhratri Bhushan MBBS, MD (Internal medicine), DM (Medical oncology) is a consultant medical oncologist and hematologist. This book aims to provide a comprehensive review of chemotherapy for medical professionals preparing for postgraduate entrance examinations. The author, an oncologist, addresses a perceived lack of updated and in-depth resources by compiling information from authoritative sources such as DeVita, Hellman, and Rosenberg's Cancer Principles & Practice of Oncology, NCCN guidelines, drug monographs, and high-impact journals. It is designed to equip doctors with a tool to test and build their knowledge in oncology, particularly for exams like NEET-SS and NEET-PG.
The author's stated motivation for writing this book stems from a personal experience of lacking sufficient resources during their own preparation for DM entrance exams. The book is positioned as a tool for doctors preparing for various postgraduate medical entrance and board review examinations, with a specific focus on oncology. The author emphasizes reliance on high-quality, authoritative sources like DeVita, Hellman, and Rosenberg's Cancer Principles & Practice of Oncology, along with NCCN guidelines and drug monographs, to ensure the depth and accuracy of the content. The author also acknowledges the dynamic nature of oncology and plans for periodic updates to keep the material current.
