The loss of a loved one is never easy, nor is it easily understood by kids—and even impossible to understand for toddlers! Grandpa Lives on the Moon captures organic, real thoughts of a 3-year-old who has come to know a grandparent who is “up there” only through sightings and interactions with the glowing orb he sees out the window every night. It’s not a book about grieving, but rather a wholesome account of how a young mind has connected with a grandfather who was around just long enough to hold him as an infant, and who now watches him as a toddler from his perch high up on the moon, in the stars, or somewhere even greater.
