
Presents an overview of the existing management system for controlling industrial air toxics emissions in Alberta. Begins with an overview of sources and groups of air toxics in the province, then describes components of Alberta's air quality management system. These include goals, policies, ambient guidelines or prescribed ambient levels, source emission standards, plume dispersion modelling, ambient air and source emissions monitoring, environmental reporting, emissions inventory, approvals, inspections/abatement, enforcement, and research. Other activities of relevance include a vehicle inspection/maintenance program and participation in national environmental programs. Appendices include lists of toxic substances.
