For engineers, architects, contractors, and other building industry professionals who have little or no experience with acoustical terms or concepts. This book presents practical design guidelines supplementing information found in the Sound and Vibration chapters of the ASHRAE Handbook and includes information for developing system designs minimizing the possibility of excessive HVAC system noise and vibration in and around buildings. The text explains how to conduct troubleshooting investigations to resolve noise and vibration problems. Extensively revised, it highlights the acoustical features of a wide range of HVAC system components, is up to date on new noise and vibration control products, and discusses new strategies for selecting equipment and designing systems.
