Author Description

Fearless Frieda is a young kit fox who wants to explore the world outside of her den. Frieda encourages her three siblings to come along. They encounter various animals in their quest, while also learning the perils that can befall young animals in nature. Meanwhile, the kits' mother, Vixen, upon returning home from a hunt, finds her empty den. She looks everywhere for her lost kits. The italicized repetitive storyline of Vixen's search engages children to speak along with the reader of the book, while finding out if the kits survive their adventure. The authors, Jan and Richard Stommes are animal scientists. They want to share their love of nature with children by creating stories about animal adventures.
