Africans laid the foundations for excellence in education, but anti-African think tanks, scholars, and others have consciously sought to erase and suppress this legacy. African Power calls for the understanding and practice of indigenous African socialization practices and argues that they can useful today. African Power also calls for resistance to educational paradigms that are totally foreign, useless and damaging to African people. The book includes a large bibliography with sources addressing ancient African pedagogy.
