This new edition of a highly successful book is based on prescribing practice in a large metropolital region. It has been thoroughly revised and updated since its second edition was published, to take into account new drugs and practice developed over the last four years. For each common condition, listed alphabetically for quick and easy reference, there is a list of preferred drugs and dosages, some useful hints on diagnosis and management and a guide to the costs involved. All drugs except proprietary combination preparations are written in their approved (generic) form. Newer drugs have been included only if they have significant advantages over older, well tried formulations.
