A modest attempt to Interpret word 'Alaq' which has long been understood and translated as blood clot. Lately some translators have tried to interpret it differently. This book is intended to present some scientific facts in simple words and to correlate it with the creation of man as in the Holy Qur'an. This insignificant contribution is inspired by the magnitude of the scholarly works of the great A'immah who have done tremendous work on the exegesis of the Qur'anic verses in the past and the philosophical approach like that of Imam Ghazali and Allamah Iqbal. About Prof. Muhammad Ata: Dr. Muhammad Ata served the sick of the west most of his life. By dint of hard work, ingenious research, he had the honor to become a Consultant Hematologist in England at a younger age which exceptional English may have done. He moved to U.S.A. in 1974, where besides teaching, he was able to practice cardiology and general medicine. He returned to his native country eight years ago, leaving his children in States, to Shifa International Hospital and Shifa College of Medicine to serve in an honorary capacity as Professor of Medicine and Pathology and teaching medicine through the Holy Quran.
