This is a political biography of the second president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. It is focused mostly on his first steps as president: his efforts to create institutions of power for the Federation, to undo the Chechen knot, to overcome an economic crisis, to rebuild the political and economic status of Russia in the world. The book heavily quotes Putin’s speeches, the opinions of current Russian politicians and experts, as well as other press about him. Bibliography (380 titles).
