This guidebook on privacy law / data protection law and legal compliance addresses the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and how it integrates into U.S. privacy law, such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). It is intended to give professionals the working and walking knowledge they need to understand how to integrate their program based on the GDPR with the more specific and sectoral requirements under U.S. law. With this guidebook, Chief Privacy Officers and Data Protection Officers in the European Union (EU) or United Kingdom (UK) should be able to readily identify key differences between the laws and how to integrate U.S. laws into their established compliance programs.
