Have a child underachieving in school? Check out my book. It's the story of how I overcame a 2.2 GPA in high school to achieve $1 MILLION+ in scholarships to top law schools. (And now run an 8 figure business!) Preface to the Second Edition I wrote this book my senior year of college. It began as an honors thesis project; and, at the urging of a professor, turned into a book. The Honors College at my university, Western Kentucky University, was incredibly supportive and even paid for an editor to help create the final product. Unfortunately, that’s about as far as I was able to take the book. I started law school immediately thereafter and set off on a new journey that now has me running a multi-million dollar company. Looking back, the method of “Reversing Underachievement” outlined in this book remains very much relevant. Written from the perspective of my 23 year old self, it tells the story of what I then believed to be the cause of my underachievement and the key factors that I believed to be responsible for enabling my later success. While far from scientific, I hope this window into my thinking at the time will shed some light on the situation you face with your bright but underachieving child. Hopefully, if your child is struggling, you will relate to some of the anecdotes I tell and perhaps find a few nuggets to apply to improve communications (so important!). Many of the concepts introduced in here, like following your interests, have continued to drive success in my life. Today, I stand at the help of a company running a team of creatives with a series of patented inventions to my name. That after graduating law school cum laude from a top US Law School (Washington & Lee) on a $90,000 scholarship. At least for me, that is, this method has worked. I’m very grateful to this day for Dr. Anne N. Rinn, the professor who forever changed my life (who wrote the forward to this book ~ 15 years ago). I am also deeply grateful to my wife
