Jean-Paul Marat, one of the most polarizing figures in the French Revolution, was a radical journalist and politician known for his impassioned writings advocating for the rights of the common people. Marat played a pivotal role in shaping the revolutionary fervor of his time, only to meet a tragic end when he was assassinated in his bathtub by Charlotte Corday in 1793. This booklet by the socialist writer Ernest Belfort Bax is one of the few sympathetic accounts of Marat's life and death. This edition is illustrated with five pages of photos.
