Fired from her job, Janet now has nothing, until she sees a sign that leads her to an old farmhouse and a litter of 10-week-old puppies where the runt chooses her. Finally confident with her weight loss, thanks to the walks she takes Nevil on, she buys herself a new dress and hits the local bars only to bring home losers, which Nevil doesn't much care for. Something is changing in the dog, little by little. His snout is losing its color, his fur is coming off in clumps, and the nosy elderly neighbor suggests he sees a vet, but Nevil's powers put that to a grinding halt, as he does with everything as his body shifts. Alas, Janet has found the man, but not of her dreams, and he now rules her.
