Myth or legend? A Nation on the edge of war. Joseph and Rebecca's unlikely romance continues. The Judean sicarii rebels understand to gain entrance into the desert mountain fortress of Masada and defeat the Roman soldiers stationed within, is to gain weapons and siege machines to arm a freedom starved population and launch a war that forces Rome from the country. The companions believe a taste of freedom is not worth devastation. If a rebellion in Judea succeeds it is not sustainable, returning Roman armies will launch a full scale war not of restoration but of annihilation. Future maps of the Roman Empire will be void of Judea and the Holy land. In these desperate times the companions embark in a race across the Mediterranean Sea against the might of Rome and their sworn enemy the sicarii freedom fighters of Judea, all in search of a hidden treasure of solid gold scrolls. These scrolls are the building plans of the impregnable fortification of Masada and were laid down by Joseph’s grandfather in his youth, when he served as a general and later as chief architect in King Herod’s Masada building project. These plans reveal secret passages once used by the ancient King. In this tale of piracy and espionage. Personal interests clash. Joseph seeks the treasure in the hope of clearing his name as a traitor and returning to a life of luxury and citizenship, while Rebecca seeks freedom and a chance to grow in her new Christian faith. Secretly she hopes to bring Joseph to faith in Jesus Christ but his eyes are ever looking away to his lost holdings in Jerusalem. Will she succeed?
