Stella Jackson, ("Star"), didn't know that her decision to have a child would change her life in the best and worst possible ways. Nor could she have imagined that the child would grow up to be her savior and the leader of a ruthless drug cartel. Antonio Jackson, ("Pretty Tony"), and his friends didn't grow up with ambitions to become drug dealers, murders or womanizers, that's just the hand they believe fate dealt them as a direct consequence of growing up in the Projects. However, Tony and his friends learn that the prosperity they so desperately seek in their effort to escape the undertow of violence and degradation in the ghettos of St. Louis, Missouri, also becomes the very thing that shaped and destroyed their young lives and friendships. Star is determined to save her son, and he wants out before it destroys him as it has those he loves.
