Laughter builds as he struggles to successfully oppose a trifecta of absurd schemes, including a bizarre plot concerning a Civil War painting on display at his state's capitol.These evils are inflicted on Humboldt and his employer by a previously unreported, but long-standing family antagonist, and also involve a startling local political figure.
