“In the Beginning was the Memory” …. While in the process of writing the description for Re-membering Shimmer, and with a page full of flowery Golden Age words on the screen in front of me, my 19-year-old daughter burst into my office, happily interrupting my clicking on the keyboard, and squealed, “I absolutely love Shimmer! This is how I imagine God talking to me! I love it! I just love it!” She had been reading a proof of the printed book, and though not quite finished, couldn’t contain her jollification. I set my writing aside and let myself feel into the moment of de~light. THIS is a perfect example of what Shimmer and O’ Shimmer’s words have gifted me – the enlivening and illuminating reaction that my daughter expressed, and simultaneously the experience of grounding a more spacious, gracious, grace-full way of BEing in the now. My response to the THIS of my daughter’s interruption is an example of living in flow within the practice of Living in Presence…. Living in Presence helps us to surrender old patterns and live a more heart-centered, soul-full, skillful way - a way that is authentic, compassionate, patient, open, and wise…. a way that helps to free us from unnecessary suffering and supports others in choosing the freedom of a more gentle, generous, and generative way of BEing in the world. Shimmer is the name that my mentor, my friend, and my luminous SiSTAR has chosen as her name for Source/God. Devoted to the practice of Living Shimmer Presence, she has taken the name O’ Shimmer of Shimmer. When I approached O’ Shimmer with the idea of creating and publishing a collection from her messages and Shimmer’s messages that come through her, she immediately and enthusiastically embraced it and granted me full carte blanche with the project. It was a hands-off and heart-fully-on collaboration with the only direction from O' Shimmer being that of not forcing as well as her consistent gentle re-minders to allow myself to be in flow an
