The present volume is based upon the complete (two-volume) edition. This Major Authors Edition offers Beowulf complete, together with more comprehensive selections from the work of the 31 major authors whose portraits appear on the front of the jacket. This edition includes more authors than those included in previous published major authors anthologies. It contains over 600 pages of new material--from Beowulf to D. H. Lawrence and T. S. Eliot.
