Author Description

Based on the Chinese folk legend of bells that ring out untouched by humans, this work gives a haunting and atmospheric narrative of this well-known myth. Percussive piano techniques, glassy string sounds, and a highly expressive clarinet part - representative of the wind that carries the ringing of the bells - make for a delicately coloured, gripping work that brings to light the largely unexplored nuances of the instruments.
