Michael Higgins, a composer known for his choral arrangements, utilizes his experience with the National Children's Choir of Great Britain to adapt this classic text. The score provides a structured framework that balances vocal accessibility with a sophisticated piano accompaniment to support young performers.

Experts and choral directors frequently highlight this arrangement as a standard, accessible choice for youth ensembles. The composition is noted for its melodic clarity and effective use of the descant to enhance the emotional resonance of the traditional text.
