Author Description

This collection of review articles sets out to summarize the results of current research on regulatory mechanisms of a selected number of model genes. It concentrates on regulatory proteins, regulatory sequences, chromatin structure and tissue specific splicing. By focusing on a few representative model genes, the book aims to enable the reader to draw both detailed and general conclusions about the mechanisms of tissue specific gene regulation.
