Author Description

Excerpt from Manual of Elocution: For Use in County Normal Institutes, and Graded and Common Schools The subject is treated in twenty lessons, containing such subject matter and arranged in such manner as to not only, render a knowledge of Elocution a pleasure and pastime to acquire, but to suggest an effective method of teaching it. Our drills are simple and appropriate for examples and indispensible for illustrating the different parts of the subject; our outline is logical and complete as far as this treatise extends, and cannot fail to present the subject in a tangible light; our selections for practice are at once interesting to read and study, and adapted to an application of the principles taught.
