Challenging the view that decentralization has fatally weakened the London economy, this book examines the causes of job loss and unemployment in London, local responses to the employment crisis, and the policies required to lower inner city unemployment. The authors conclude that inequality in the housing and labor markets, exacerbated by national recession and a fragmented local government system, are instead the central problems.
