This is the first English version of the German Commentary on the 1980 UN Convention on the International Sale of Goods. The commentators include many eminent German scholars, several of whom were involved in the drafting of the Convention itself. The book has been updated and slightly abridged in an effort to make the translation more relevant to an English-speaking audience. It examines every article of the Convention, giving a short explanation of each and comparing its solutions with those of various domestic laws. Case law and academic writings are also taken into account in these evaluations.
