The Ring of the Dove (Tawq al-Hamama) is a medieval Arabic work on love by the poet and philosopher Ibn Hazm of Córdoba, written around 1022. It is a detailed examination of love, its causes, its development, and its various forms, written in a clear and elegant style. The book is divided into thirty chapters, each dealing with a different aspect of love, from the initial spark of attraction to the pains of separation and the joys of union.
