Jonah is commanded by God to preach in Nineveh, but he flees in the opposite direction, leading to a tempest at sea. Jonah's defiance sets in motion a series of events that test his faith and obedience. He is cast overboard and swallowed by a great fish, where he prays for deliverance. The narrative follows his reluctant journey and eventual fulfillment of God's word, exploring themes of repentance and divine mercy.
