A desert king's word is law, and he has chosen his queen. Jesslyn is summoned to the desert kingdom of Sharif Fehr, a man she once knew as a playboy prince. Though she may challenge him, Sharif is determined that she will submit to his command and become his wife and queen. Meanwhile, Sheikh Khalid Bin Shareef finds innocent Maggie Lewis irresistible and has her brought to his kingdom, where they discover the consequence of their passion: marriage and Maggie taking her place by his side, and in his bed.

These two novellas, "The Sheikh's Chosen Queen" and "The Desert King's Pregnant Bride," by Jane Porter, are presented as a combined volume. The narratives focus on strong, authoritative male leads in desert kingdoms who claim the women they desire as their wives and queens. The plots emphasize themes of immediate passion leading to unexpected consequences, such as pregnancy, which then necessitates marriage and a shift in the female protagonists' status. The stories appear to cater to readers who enjoy fast-paced, trope-driven contemporary romance with exotic settings and a focus on dominant male figures and their determined pursuit of their chosen partners.
