
ERP Book Readability Levels Waterford Institute09/30/081 Waterford Early Reading Program Books-Lexile Framework Levels and ApproximateText Level Equivalence The Level Two Read Along books and Traditional Tales, and the Level Three Read Along books providenatural, rich text to develop comprehension. Therefore, the books have been sequenced in the reading programby objectives for comprehension strategies. On the computer, these books are read aloud to the students forsupport. However, the books can be read independently in the classroom. If you choose to have students readthe books independently, the following table is available to assist you in matching text to students' readingability. The Lexile Framework has leveled the books. Also provided are approximate correlation to Fountas andPinnell and the Developmental Reading Assessment. You may also choose to order the texts yourself, based onexperience with your students.Readability levels for the Readables are not included. These books are supported with the instruction of patternwords and sight words specifically corresponding to the Readable for the lesson. Depending on the complexityof the decodable patterns, sometimes the levels were more difficult or easier creating an inconsistent levelingorder.
