It is aimed at able candidates of 14-16 who are expected to continue their study of English. The two books cover the four language modes of reading, writing, listening and talking. This book is concerned with comprehension of written and spoken material and gives practice in close reading and in listening and discussion. The text extracts represent literature, journalism and other non-fiction writing, including diagrammatic information. Comprehension skills are analyzed and there are graded questions with sample answers.
