This compilation documents and records as much of the chronological history of the University of New Mexico cross country and track program as possible. This institutional memory is critical to future generations and their desire to learn about Lobo athletics. The three volumes of the book were to serve two aspects of the program, one to document every performance, by every athlete, at every meet during their career based on available information. It was intended to serve as a reference for anyone wanting to study the history of the program. In that way anyone reading the books will be able to see an athlete's development through multiple years of a career. Along with that documentation was the desire to tell stories about athletes, the team, and the sport that add both breadth and depth to the history of the program.
