The Anti-Christ, 'A falu' was written in 1978 in Collingwood, NJ, and 1979 in Hungary and Italy. It uses both fictional and real life information to create the story. A falu (A folktale in Hungarian (Magyar). The setting is during the Carter administration in the late 1970's. As a result of the economic situation, especially the oil rationing, I had to sell my house purchased in 1975. While in Hungary and Italy, the revolution took place in Iran. The poem depicts this situation. And while in Italy the great Nuclear armament agreement by President Carter, I read about this in an Italian newspaper and enclose an excerpt from it. The situation in Hungary was mixed.
A man grapples with personal loss and global turmoil as he navigates the late 1970s. The narrative weaves together fictional elements with real-life events, reflecting the author's experiences during a period of economic hardship, oil rationing, and international political upheaval, including the Iranian revolution and nuclear armament agreements. The story is set against the backdrop of the Carter administration, drawing on details from Hungary and Italy.
This work appears to be a deeply personal narrative poem, blending autobiographical elements with significant global events of the late 1970s. The author's intent seems to be to capture a specific historical moment through a combination of personal experience and factual reporting, as evidenced by the inclusion of a newspaper excerpt. The narrative framework, drawing from both fictional and real-life information, suggests a reflective and perhaps melancholic tone. The inclusion of Hungarian and Italian settings, alongside American political and economic contexts, points to a multifaceted exploration of the era.
