The twenty years covered in this book were a colorful time for New England railroads. There were still many systems crisscrossing the states, from backwoods branch lines to the high density electrified territory of the New Haven, trains that operated with a variety of motive power. Both the New Have and the Boston & Maine experimented with several different paint schemes which added to the color of the era. The CN and CP also operated lines, adding to the diversity. EMD, Alco, GE, FM and Lima are all represented on this tour of the rail yards from New Rochelle, NY north to Canadian border and then along the coastline from Connecticut to Northern Maine. 128 pages.
