The income from such a fund will assure the excavation Of the market place, or Agora, at Athens. The second School founded by the Institute, that at Rome, has just re ceived a grant of The income from this fund will assure more fellowships with larger stipends, and increased opportunities for archaeological research in Italian territory. The daughters Of the Institute have for the moment outstripped their parent. These two Schools are now on what may be called easy street. The needs of our other Schools, and the national body Of the Institute itself, Should now come to the foreground. During the past year our endowment has been increased from to We have spent over on our lecture system, as'against last year. Our American Journal Of Archaeology has in creased its pagination and its number Of plates. This coming year it will better its format, will use a better grade of paper, thereby assuring clearer plate work, and will enlarge its section on current archaeological news.
